Battery eliminator kits are an alternative
and economical way to power your flameless LED candles and other electronic devices
that are heavily used or left on for extended periods of time. These kits are designed to replace and
eliminate traditional batteries in electronic devices that use AAA, AA, C, D,
9V and various types of coin cell and button batteries. Stop changing out dead batteries and start
saving money! Stop worrying about whether your battery powered electronic
devices are turned off or in the timer mode!
Not all electronic devices that use
traditional batteries are good candidates for battery eliminator kits. A few things to consider when determining if
a battery powered electronic device is a good candidate for a battery
eliminator kit are:
- Flameless
LED candles that are sitting on a shelf near an electrical outlet and rarely
(if ever) get moved.
- Desktop
water fountains that are near an electrical outlet and have taken up residence
on your desk at home or work.
- Fire
or smoke detectors in a workshop area that has an electrical outlet nearby.
- Smart
water faucets.
- Holiday
decorations such as snow villages, ornaments, motion activated Halloween “spookies”,
etc.
- Pet
doors and pet feeders.
- Wall
clocks.
If the answers to these questions are “YES”,
then a battery eliminator kit is the perfect solution for you! Here are a few good examples of battery
powered electronic devices that are good candidates for battery eliminator kits:
- A
flameless LED candle that is sitting on a shelf near an electrical outlet and rarely
(if ever) gets moved.
- A
desktop water fountain that is near an electrical outlet and has basically
taken up residence on your desk at home or work.
- A
fire or smoke detector in a workshop area that has an electrical outlet nearby.
- Smart
water faucets.
- Holiday
decorations such as snow villages, ornaments, motion activated Halloween figurines,
etc.
- Pet
doors and pet feeders.
- Wall
clocks.
An example of a battery powered
electronic device that is not a good candidate for a battery eliminator kit is
a flashlight since it is typically constantly being moved around and is usually
not near an electrical outlet. Lanterns,
on the other hand, can sometimes be good candidates since they might be
stationary for long periods of time if they are on a picnic table outside and
near an outdoor electrical outlet.
The components that make up a battery
eliminator kit are listed below:
- An AC
to DC wall power adapter. This adapter
plugs into a standard electrical outlet and converts the 120VAC into the
appropriate DC voltage needed by the electronic device. This DC voltage is
dependent on the number and type of batteries used in the device.
- An
active dummy cell battery that goes into one of the spaces in the battery
compartment and plugs into the AC to DC wall power adapter by means of a plug
at the end of a thin flat flexible cable (FFC cable). Since this FFC cable is thin, it can run
around most battery compartment covers.
- Passive
dummy cell batteries that go into the other spaces in the battery compartment
and complete the circuit. The number of
passive dummy cell batteries required depends on the number of batteries used
in the device. For example, if the
device uses 4 x AA batteries, then you will need 1 x AA active dummy cell
battery and 3 x AA passive dummy cell batteries.
Since our AC to DC wall power adapters
can supply more power than is needed for a single flameless LED candle, you can
power multiple electronic devices with a single power adapter with our optional
power splitter cables which are available in 2-way, 3-way, 4-way, 5-way, 6-way,
and 8-way. We also sell power extension cables for powering electronic
devices that are located some distance away from the electrical outlet. These power extension cables are available in
lengths ranging from a few inches up to several feet. All of the power cables that make up a
battery eliminator solution can easily be hidden behind furniture, plants, and
under tablecloths, rugs, decorative snow, etc.
Additional accessories are also
available such as replacement & additional active and passive dummy cell
batteries, and AC to DC wall power adapters.
The visible components in our battery
eliminator kits and accessories are available in a standard black color, and
most of our kits and accessories are also available in a special white color to
better blend in with white or lighter colored decors.
