NEW & IMPROVED SINGLE COMPONENT DESIGN! This new and improved next generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery eliminates the need for the 2-component solution used in the original first-generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery resulting in a higher reliability solution. The original first-generation version is constructed of a AA Passive Dummy Cell Battery that slides into a hollow plastic D cell battery dummy case. Since this new and improved next generation design is a single component, you don’t have to worry about the AA Passive Dummy Cell Battery falling out of the hollow plastic D cell battery dummy case. It also means not having to worry about the positive (+) terminal of the AA Passive Dummy Cell Battery making good contact with the internal positive (+) terminal of the hollow plastic D cell battery dummy case.


As with the original first-generation design, this new and improved next generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery is used to replace a real D battery in flameless LED candles and other electronic devices that use two or more D batteries. This component works in conjunction with a D Active Dummy Cell Battery and the appropriate AC to DC Wall Power Adapter to eliminate expensive batteries that are constantly having to be replaced. This new and improved next generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery is one component of an overall Battery Eliminator solution which consists of a D Active Dummy Cell Battery (part number D-DUMMY-ACTIVE-NG or D-DUMMY-ACTIVE), one or more D Passive Dummy Cell Batteries (this component - quantity depends on the number of regular batteries required by the electronic device), and an AC to DC Wall Power Adapter (DC output voltage depends on the number of batteries used by the electronic device). This new and improved next generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery has an internal short-circuit between the (+) terminal and the (-) terminal. This internal short-circuit connection is needed to complete the circuit necessary in the electronic device when used in conjunction with a D Active Dummy Cell Battery.

This new and improved next generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery is the same size as a real D battery, so it fits in one of the battery spaces in the battery compartment. It doesn't matter which space it goes into, and the correct polarity doesn't necessarily need to be observed, but the mechanical fit will be best if the correct polarity is observed since the spring terminals in the battery compartment are designed to work best when the battery is inserted with the correct mechanical orientation.

As an example, suppose you want to eliminate 2 x D batteries, you will need 1 x D Active Dummy Cell Battery, 1 x D Passive Dummy Cell Battery (this component) and an AC to DC Wall Power Adapter that supplies the appropriate power for electronic devices that use 2 x D batteries. Since each regular D battery supplies 1.5VDC, two D batteries will supply 3VDC, so you would need an AC to DC Wall Power Adapter that supplies an output voltage around 3VDC (3.3VDC is also acceptable).


As another example, suppose you want to eliminate 3 x D batteries. You will need 1 x D Active Dummy Cell Battery, 2 x D Passive Dummy Cell Battery (this component) and an AC to DC Wall Power Adapter that supplies the appropriate power for electronic devices that use 3 x D batteries. Since each regular D battery supplies 1.5VDC, three D batteries will supply 4.5VDC, so you would need an AC to DC Wall Adapter that supplies an output voltage around 4.5VDC (5VDC is also acceptable).

NOTE(S): This is not a real battery and will not power an electronic device on its own. It needs to be used in conjunction with the other necessary components that make up a complete Battery Eliminator solution as discussed above and depicted in the included diagram.


WARNING(S): Do not attempt to charge this D Passive Dummy Cell Battery with a battery charger. Doing so may damage the battery charger.

The : D Passive Dummy Cell Battery - NEXT GENERATION, Is a solid well built Dummy Cell.  It's design and build is much superior to the older model of the D battery Passive dummy cell and it is worth the $1.30 more.  The connections are much more solid. I Heartily recommend the Next Generation D Passive Dummy Cell Battery to anyone who is going to buy this type of product.
