Description

Duct Seal Compound is an oil-based putty-type material that is used to waterproof and seal electrical connections and around holes and openings where wires and cables pass through, and it helps keep air and moisture out to protect circuitry and other items that might be damaged by exposure to water, dirt, chemicals, etc. The compound is made of non-drying polymers, oils, and inert fillers. The compound is a grey, soft, non-toxic, putty-type compound that adheres to clean dry surfaces such as plastic and metal. It’s easy to use and can be hand-applied at temperatures ranging from 25°F to 120°F.

Duct Seal Compound is used by the building and electrical trade to seal around electrical junction boxes, flashings, wire and cable ports, service mast entries, etc. The compound can be shaped by hand to any form and reused if necessary. Duct Seal Compound has countless other applications in the refrigeration, heating and cooling, plumbing, and metal fabrication fields as well as being an excellent general-purpose sealant for use around the home. Duct Seal Compound may be painted immediately after application and will not bleed through the dry paint film.

Duct Seal Compound creates an air and water-tight seal and resists water, alcohol, mild acids, and bases. It is non-corrosive and will not damage plastics, metal, or have any adverse effects on human skin, and can be hand-shaped to any form. The compound is used by electricians, HVAC technicians, plumbers, metal fabricators, hobbyists, and it’s great for general purpose home repairs.

Sold in a 1-ounce piece that measures approximately 1”: x 1.2” x 3” and is packaged in a small zip-lock bag. It’s the perfect amount to seal up several openings where wires and cables pass or where various types of connectors interface such as USB input power ports, 5.5mm x 2.1mm barrel connectors, etc. Perfect for sealing up power ports on outdoor products such as security cameras, trail cameras, solar panels, landscape lights, seasonal outdoor decorations, sprinkler timers, motion activated sprinklers, motion activated lights, fish feeders, pet feeders, etc.
